Now that almost done with the CMEA Band Festivals (whew) what literature worked and maybe more importantly what didn't work? Are there pieces that you taught your students that you would keep around to teach again?
For me, I had a great time teaching Randal Thompson's classic Alleluia. I thought it was extremely musical.
Also on a lighter side, I wouldn't bring it to CMEA but both my students and myself had a kick performing several of the movements (1,2,3,7,13) of Carmina Burana-Krance. Its an audience thrill too.
