BASIC FUNCTION:
Teaching assistant for middle school band and orchestra program
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Under the teacher’s guidance and assistance, duties will include:
Tutoring individual or small groups of students including teaching instrument assembly, note reading, rhythm reading, tone production, posture, etc and sectionals.
Copying music, helping to prepare music folder, filing music, maintain records for our book lending library.
Communicating with parents via e-mail and phone.
Preparing purchase order forms, bus request forms, reimbursement forms.
Entering attendance, practice record sheet grades and other data into computer.
Assisting with recording rehearsals.
Checking out instrument to students at the beginning of the year and cleaning and/or testing instruments at the end of the year.
ABILITY TO:
Use technology
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BA in music or equivalent skills
6.5 hrs per day - 5 days per week - 10 months per year
Grade 17.5
Salary Range: $15.57 - $19.87 per hr;(New employees start at $15.57 per hr)
10 paid vacation days, 12 paid holidays, benefits (benefits can be converted to cash if employee does not want benefits.)
