Every year we ask that our membership to nominate deserving educators to receive one of the Bay Section Awards. Please take a moment to make a few comments about a fellow educator that you feel is deserving.
CMEA
Bay Section annually presents awards to outstanding educators in our
region who have been nominated by their peers and confirmed by the
Executive Board. The awards, which are presented at the Winter
Conference luncheon in January, are:
- The Outstanding Music Educator Award, which is also presented at the CMEA State Conference Banquet in March,
- The Gilbert Freitas Awards for emerging and veteran instrumental music educators, sponsored by the Best Music Instrument Repair Company, Oakland and A and G Music, Dick Ackright, Owner.
- The Outstanding Choral Music Educator award, sponsored by J.W. Pepper and Son Inc. of San Francisco, and
- The Outstanding Classroom/General Music Educator award, sponsored by the Scott Foresman - Silver Burdett company.
Please be aware that both the Nominator (you) and the Nominee must be current members of CMEA.
