Greetings everyone! I hope that the summer months provided all of you with some well deserved rest and relaxation with family and friends. Between the barbecues and get-togethers, I hope that each of you spent some time refl ecting on the previous ten months of music-making as well as planning for the new school year.

I know things are quite hectic at the beginning of the year but, when you get a chance, take some time to peruse the CMEA Bay Section website and get acquainted with the board members in your area and beyond. Remember to sign up for large group and solo/ensemble festivals and please pay special attention to any deadlines imposed.

I’d like to thank all outgoing Bay Section board members for all their hard work and dedication and welcome all new board members. I look forward to working with all of you.

Please plan on attending the Bay Section Winter Conference at San José State University in January. You’ll be hearing more about this from President-elect and Conference Chair, Michael Galisatus, in the coming months.

Each year, Bay Section presents awards to outstanding educators in classroom, vocal and instrumental music. Nomination forms will be on our website soon.
