Greetings everyone! With the hectic holiday season upon us, I hope all of you are making plans to attend the Bay Section Winter Conference at San Jose State University on January 11–12, 2008. President-elect and Conference Chair, Mike Galisatus, and the Conference Committee have been hard at work putting together an inspiring and informative in-service that you won’t want to miss.

Once the conference concludes, festival season begins. I’d like to thank Rita Zigas-Brown and Vivian McNulty for the many hours spent planning and organizing our large group and solo/ensemble festivals. I’d also like to thank our area representatives
and site-hosts for all of your hard work and dedication.

The CMEA Professional Development Conference, March 13–15, 2008 in Sacramento is a wonderful chance for all of us to see old friends, meet colleagues from around the state and hear some great music. If your schedule permits, I hope you will plan on attending.
