Saxophone Family Members
The saxophone produces sound with a single reed, just like the clarinet. But the body of the saxophone is made out of brass instead of wood, and it is conical, not cylindrical. Saxophones are always heard in concert bands and larger jazz bands. Some composers have written saxophone solos in orchestra music. Since the saxophone is the newest member of the woodwind family, the key system is the most modern and easiest to play, with rollers to help the pinky fingers move around. The saxophone is very popular in jazz and pop music, partly because this key system makes improvisation easier.

The saxophone family has five members: soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and (a bit rare) bass, in order from smallest to largest and highest pitch to lowest pitch.
